Discord Automation for Organizations

Connect an organization Discord server, create game-specific hubs, route competition activity, notify staff, and sync linked player roles.

Connect an organization Discord server to run competition activity where players and staff already work. The GotNext subscription brings ranked queues, tournaments, ladders, XP, achievements, game hubs, match feeds, and connected-player roles into one organization workspace. You can enable only the competition tools your community needs.

What the automated setup creates

The setup is intentionally limited to channels and roles that connect directly to GotNext.gg. It does not write your welcome message, community rules, general chat structure, or announcement strategy.

Private staff routes

  • A private staff category
  • A match-review channel for disputed ladder results and other staff decisions
  • A ticket-notifications channel for new support tickets and replies

A hub for each game

  • A game access role
  • General game chat
  • Looking-for-group chat
  • A voice lobby
  • Tournament updates
  • Available ladder matches
  • Match results
  • A shared role-selection channel where members can choose the games they follow

This keeps each game in its own category. A member who follows one game does not need to see the match and tournament feeds for every other game in the organization.

Before you start

The bot needs Manage Channels and Manage Roles in Discord. Its role must also sit above the game access roles it manages.

You do not need to require verified email addresses for account linking. A signed-in player can connect a Discord account directly from account settings.

Connect and organize the server

  1. 1

    Connect the Discord server

Open the organization dashboard, choose Discord, and install or connect the server. You must be able to manage both the organization and the Discord server.

  2. 2

    Choose the supported games

Games already used by an organization competition appear automatically. Add any other supported games that should have a community hub.

  3. 3

    Finish the setup

Choose Finish setup. The progress panel creates the private staff routes first, then works through each game hub. You can leave the page and return without losing completed steps.

  4. 4

    Test the routes

Open advanced routing and send a test to each configured channel. A successful test confirms that the bot can resolve the server, find the channel, and post there.

What gets posted

Ladder activity

The available-match channel receives matches that players can accept. After an opponent accepts, the match channel receives the locked matchup. The results channel receives the final score, rating movement, updated rank, record, streaks, and relevant highlights.

When a result needs staff review, the private match-review notification links to the organization match-management workspace rather than the public match page.

Tournament activity

Tournament messages use the hub for the tournament's game. Supported activity includes registrations, check-in reminders, registration closing, match results, disputes, completed rounds, and tournament status changes.

If a tournament has an explicit Discord webhook, that webhook remains authoritative. The organization bot does not send a duplicate copy. If no game-specific tournament route exists, an existing organization-wide announcement channel can be used as a fallback. Automated setup does not create a generic announcements channel.

Support tickets

New tickets and ticket replies appear in the private ticket-notifications channel. Links open the correct organization workspace, including the organization's primary custom domain when one is active.

Connected player roles

An organization can configure a connected-player role for people who have linked their GotNext.gg and Discord accounts. Role membership is reconciled after the account change commits:

  • Linking adds the role in every connected organization server where the member is present.
  • Unlinking removes the old role.
  • Relinking removes the role from the old Discord account and adds it to the new one.
  • Account deletion and staff-initiated unlinking remove stale access.

Temporary Discord failures are retried. A member who is not in a server is skipped without blocking the rest of the organization.

Updating an existing hub

Choose Sync all to add missing routes to existing hubs or repair configuration after permissions change. Setup is resumable and does not delete completed channels when a later step fails.

The progress panel shows the current phase. If Discord rejects a step, the page keeps the completed work and displays the permission or role-order problem that needs attention. After fixing it in Discord, choose Resume setup.

Ranked queues and competition commands

Ranked queues provide Discord-native matchmaking, Elo ratings, drafts, seasons, and leaderboards. The same bot also gives competitors /gotnext actions for organization tournaments, ladders, XP, and achievements. Every connected server belongs to an organization, so organization roles control its web dashboard. Manage Ranked Queues covers day-to-day queue operations, while Manage Discord grants full Discord administration. Discord role permissions for slash commands remain separate.
