Overview

Open, ongoing competitions where teams play matches, earn standings, and climb a live leaderboard across a season.

A ladder is an ongoing competition where teams or solo players complete matches and earn standings from results. Unlike a tournament, a ladder runs across a season so participants can join, climb, and keep playing.

Every ladder belongs to an organization and is tied to a single game. Once created, the game can't be changed — it would corrupt the rating semantics — so you'd need to create a new ladder if you want a different game.

Manage ladders from the organization dashboard at /organizations/{id}/ladders. Share the ladder URL through your own community channels. Competitors in the connected Discord server can use /gotnext to list active ladders and complete supported join, match, and reporting actions.

Lifecycle & status

Every ladder moves through a defined set of states. Cancelling is reversible (data is preserved); deleting is permanent and only allowed from PENDING / CANCELLED with zero teams enrolled.

PENDING

Created but not yet open for play. Teams can be invited; matches can't be reported.

ACTIVE

Open for its configured audience and accepting matches. Standings update live.

COMPLETED

Season concluded. Final standings are locked; no new matches can be reported.

CANCELLED

Hidden from active listings. Stats and matches are preserved (reversible to PENDING via Reactivate). The only status that lets the ladder be permanently deleted.
