Organization Achievements

Create organization-wide badges for queue, ladder, tournament, XP, and community milestones.

Achievements are configurable badges scoped to a GotNext organization. Staff define the badge, choose how it is earned, and control whether it appears on player profiles. Progress can come from Discord ranked queues, ladders, tournaments, organization XP, or a manual staff award.

Achievements do not change ELO.

Create an achievement

  1. 1

    Open Achievements

Open the connected Discord server in the organization workspace, then choose Achievements.

  2. 2

    Create a draft

Add the name, short label, description, rarity, category, icon key, and color.

  3. 3

    Choose the rule

Select an automatic competition rule or a manual award, then configure its scope and target.

  4. 4

    Choose visibility

Decide whether the badge appears on profiles, shows while locked, stays secret until earned, or sends the player a DM.

  5. 5

    Save and publish

Drafts do not award automatically. Publish the achievement when its rule and presentation are ready.

Automatic rules

Automatic achievements are evaluated after eligible competition activity. A rule can compare one metric to a target using equals, not equals, greater than, greater than or equal, less than, or less than or equal.

Available metrics include:

  • Discord queue matches, wins, losses, MVPs, ratings, streaks, seasons, and rank tier
  • Organization XP, organization level, and organization match wins
  • Ladder matches played and won
  • Tournaments played and won
  • Tournament matches won

Use Lifetime for organization-wide records or Season for Discord queue season metrics.

Manual achievements

Manual achievements are useful for community awards that cannot be calculated from match records. Staff enter the player's Discord ID and may record a reason and send a direct-message notification.

Examples include:

  • Community MVP
  • Event volunteer
  • Founding player
  • Sportsmanship award selected by staff

Visibility

  • Show on player profile: Include the badge in dashboard and public player profile data.
  • Show locked badge: Let players see what they can work toward.
  • Secret until earned: Hide the badge identity until a player unlocks it. An optional hint can still be shown.
  • Public: Allow the badge to appear on public profile surfaces.
  • DM player on unlock: Send a private Discord notification when it is awarded.

An achievement can be visible on a profile without being a public badge. Use both settings deliberately.

Backfill

Enable Backfill eligible when existing player records should count. After publishing, use Backfill to evaluate the rule for registered players and award anyone who already qualifies.

Backfill does not create duplicate awards for players who already earned the achievement.

Lifecycle and moderation

  • Draft: Editable and not evaluated.
  • Active: Evaluated after eligible queue, ladder, or tournament activity.
  • Archived: Removed from active use and no longer editable.

Staff can duplicate a definition, manually award it, revoke an award, or archive the definition. Award and revoke actions are recorded for auditability.

Player display

Earned achievements appear with a player's organization profile data according to the visibility settings. Players can also run /gotnext profile in Discord to view their organization XP, level, and earned achievements. Secret and locked states are respected on public profiles.

Achievements are separate from Player Commendations. Achievements come from organization rules or manual awards. Commendations come from private, positive feedback by Discord queue participants and can produce an Honor crest.
