Queue Configuration

Configure matchmaking, channels, ratings, maps, bonuses, verification, and player flow.

Each queue belongs to one Discord text channel and has its own team size, matchmaking behavior, rating rules, and match flow. Open Queues in the server dashboard, then create a queue or select an existing queue to edit it.

Most optional settings are off by default. A setting only affects the queue where it is enabled unless this page identifies it as a server-wide default.

Core behavior

SettingWhat it controls
Join channelThe Discord channel where /join and the queue board operate.
Team sizePlayers per team, from 1 to 10.
Queue modeAuto Match or Premium Schoolyard Pick.
Party joiningAllows a complete pre-made team to join together.
Queue entry timeoutRemoves a waiting entry after the configured time.
Re-queue cooldownBlocks immediate re-entry after a completed match.
Freeze queuePauses new joins without deleting settings or waiting players.
Auto-pingPings a selected role when the queue reaches the configured waiting-player count.

One Discord channel can host one queue. Moving the join channel also moves the persistent queue board.

Team formation

Auto Match

Auto Match starts when enough eligible players are available. The bot balances the two teams using current ratings.

Premium Skill Range matchmaking changes which waiting players are selected. It starts with a maximum rating gap and widens that range each minute until a valid match can form.

Schoolyard Pick

Premium Schoolyard Pick selects two captains, then runs the draft inside the private dedicated match channel. The public queue channel only receives the draft announcement.

Captain selection can use:

  • Random
  • Highest ELO
  • Lowest ELO
  • Player vote
  • Best record after a minimum number of games

The draft pick-order pattern is configurable from the dashboard. A timed-out pick is completed automatically.

Dedicated match channels

New team queues enable per-match channels by default. The server's Match channel category setting is the default location, and a queue can override the category or turn dedicated channels off.

A dedicated channel:

  • Is visible to match participants and configured match-channel roles
  • Receives the complete match card, maps, reporting controls, and optional actions
  • Can post a custom welcome message
  • Can auto-close after the result delay or stay open until /close-match

1v1 queues stay in the shared queue channel and do not create dedicated match channels.

Optional Team Voice Rooms create private Team 1 and Team 2 rooms beside the text channel. Automatic moving is a separate server-wide setting and is off by default.

Queue board

The optional queue board keeps one persistent message in the join channel. Its buttons let players:

  • Join
  • Leave
  • View their stats
  • View active matches

The bot edits the existing board as the queue changes, so routine joins and leaves do not push the board upward with new copies. Enable it from the dashboard or with /queue-board enable.

Ratings

Flat ELO is available on Free. It applies fixed win and loss amounts, with optional provisional-player amounts.

Dynamic ELO is Premium. It uses provisional and established K-factors so rating movement responds to opponent strength and a player's number of completed games.

Queue-specific starting ELO is Premium. Without an override, the queue inherits the server starting ELO.

An optional ELO gate limits joins to a minimum rating, maximum rating, or both.

See ELO & Ranking for formulas, tuning examples, tiers, seasons, and decay.

Bonuses

  • MVP bonus: Premium bonus applied once for every map MVP awarded.
  • Flawless-victory bonus: Premium bonus awarded only to the selected winners.
  • Win-streak bonuses: Premium milestones that award extra ELO at exact streak counts.

All bonuses are optional. Setting a bonus amount to 0 turns it off.

Maps

Premium map pools can use:

  • Random: Select the configured number of maps when the match starts.
  • Vote: Let match participants vote from the match flow.
  • None: Do not attach a map selection to the match.

Map names are server-authored text. GotNext displays them in match and result cards exactly as configured.

Direct challenges

Challenge mode lets a complete team challenge another complete team instead of waiting for normal matchmaking. The opposing captain accepts or declines in Discord.

A challenge can include an ELO wager up to the queue's configured maximum. Set the maximum to 0 when challenges should not allow wagers. Challenge matches do not offer Run It Back or Player Commendations.

Rematch controls

Two different settings manage repeat opponents:

  • Limit rematches: A 1v1 matchmaking rule that prefers a different opponent after the configured pair reaches its limit inside a time window.
  • Run It Back: An optional post-result action that starts a same-team rematch only after every original participant agrees.

See Run It Back for its 15-minute voting window and safety checks.

Result evidence and confirmation

Result verification requires Ranked Queues Premium or an eligible linked organization plan. It can be configured per queue:

  • Off: No scoreboard image is requested.
  • Optional: The reporter may attach one scoreboard image for each played map.
  • Required: Every played map needs an image before the report can be submitted.
  • Captain result confirmation: Ratings wait for a captain from the other team to confirm the submitted report. If that team has no captain, another participant can respond.

The guided flow stores map evidence with the report. Match participants can also upload general evidence with /screenshot. Discord channel images are not read automatically.

Game tag

A queue can select a supported game or stay generic. The tag does not restrict who can join or change the rating formula.

Scores channel

Each queue can post completed result cards to its own scores channel. Select Server default to inherit the channel configured in Server Settings.

The match-start card can also post to the scores channel so reporters have the match number, teams, maps, and reporting instructions before the result.

Availability

Free supports one active queue, unlimited registered players, team queues, Flat ELO, basic reporting, moderation, cooldowns, idle timeouts, the dashboard, dedicated match channels, queue boards, Run It Back, Team Voice Rooms, challenges, and Player Commendations.

Premium unlocks unlimited queues and the advanced rating, draft, map, bonus, verification, season, analytics, branding, role, and public profile features described above. New servers can use Premium for their first 20 completed queue matches.
